
The six racers are easy to keep track of, thanks to their color-coded boats and uniforms.
The 6 boats race 3 laps around the 600-meter course (1,800 m).
Competitors complete a practice run before each race.
BOAT RACE employs the flying start system. Boats must pass the starting line within a designated time frame during which they must be moving at all times.
After competitors receive the signal to pit-out of the docks, they maneuver their boats in an effort to secure a favorable starting position as a giant clock near the start/finish line begins the countdown to the start.
If a boat does not cross the starting line within one second after the giant clock hits 0, the boat is disqualified from the race and any bets on that boat are refunded.
